The very unique Dwarf Mondo Grass (Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Nanus’) is a short evergreen perennial with tufted grass-like dark green leaves. This variety of grass is extremely controlled and will stay in between 2-3 inches tall which is great for making a clean uniform look. The dark green evergreen blades of this grass are roughly 1/8” inch wide. In early summer this grass will produce insignificant white flower spikes that will give way to blueberries in autumn. Dwarf Mondo grass is often used as ground cover, in between stepping stones or for border planting.
How to Space Your Dwarf Mondo Grass
For a seamless planting, plant your Dwarf Mondo Grass 5-6 inches apart. Space them 8+ inches for gaps between plants.
