Description

Gardeners asked for it and the Southern Living Plant Collection delivered; the Purple Pixie Loropetalum is the weeping habit shrub we’ve been begging for. This evergreen’s rich, eggplant-purple leaves last all year long, and are always guaranteed to impress. The Purple Pixie grows up to 1-2ft H x 4-5ft wide which makes it the ideal choice for an eye-catching ground cover. However, this loropetalum truly shines in hanging baskets, window boxes, and other containers that allow the weeping foliage to cascade over the edges. Once winter has thawed from the return of spring, the Purple Pixie erupts with magenta ribbon blooms as it celebrates the rejuvenation of the awakening landscape. To keep this shrub healthy and flourishing, plant the Pixie in slightly acidic humus-rich soil and fertilize with a slow-release fertilizer in early spring.

My 2 gal. Purple Pixie Loropetalum arrived healthy & in great shape. The only concern I have is when I planted it all the dirt crumbled & fell away from the roots when I removed it from the pot. However, so far after about a week it still looks good & isn’t showing any signs of stress.

I received 3 Pixie Loropetalum in 2 shipments. Since the holes were already dug, all three plants were in the ground within an hour of delivery. I was amazed at the condition of the plant that arrived on Sept 7th considering the distance it traveled to California. It was pretty, perky and looked great. The 2 plants that arrived on the 8th were suffering, the leaves were dried and curled and I am giving them special attention and hope they make it. My rating of 3 would have been higher if all the plants were in as good a condition as the first one.

I love these plants! They were very well packed and in great condition upon arrival. I was very impressed with the speed of delivery as well. I will definitely order again!
