Thornless Blackberries?!?! Yes, it is true! Gardeners Rejoice!
Garden Breeders at the University of Arkansas have developed thornless primocane blackberries. Primocane blackberries will produce fruit on 1st-year growth in the spring and the fall. Traditionally, thornless blackberries would only produce on floricanes(2nd-year growth). These Primocane specimens yield exceptionally large blackberries with excellent flavor.
