Description
Description
The Becky Blueberry bush is a variety of Rabbiteye blueberry which will grow to be 6-8ft. These bushes will have white and pink blooms in early spring. Becky Blueberry bushes grow best in soil that is acidic, and rich with organic matter. Fruit will ripen mid-spring to early summer. Use a slow-release acidic fertilizer on your blueberry plants.
Blueberry plants have become a very popular landscape edible because they are easy to grow, high in antioxidants, and delicious in muffins, cereal, pancakes, and much more!
The Becky Blueberry is a deciduous/semi-evergreen plant and will go dormant during the winter months. When this plant is ordered during the Fall/Winter expect seasonal foliage decline(discoloration, spots, leaf drop) or the plant to arrive completely dormant.
Rabbiteye Blueberries require slightly acidic soil to thrive. Consequently, the Becky blue Blueberry won't do well in alkaline soil. Test your soil with our soil test kit to ensure your pH is where it needs to be. If your soil is too alkaline, you can use Espoma Soil Acidifier to get your pH more acidic. You can also supplement it with elemental sulfur to decrease the pH.
***Remember when planting blueberry bushes you have to plant two different types so that the bushes can cross-pollinate.
