Remarkable columnar gardenia with coin-shaped glossy green leaves and single daisy gardenia flowers that rebloom spring through summer.
Diamond Spire™ Gardenia Care Tips
Hardy from USDA Zones 7-10.
Plant the Diamond Spire™ Gardenia in slightly acidic soil with good drainage. Soil that is too alkaline results in yellowing leaves.
Water 2-3 times per week during the first growing season. In the second growing season, water once or twice a week. Shortly after planting, check the soil an hour after watering to ensure that the soil is draining well.
Plant this gardenia in full sun to part shade. If you are located in hotter zones, such as the southern United States, plant them somewhere where they will receive morning sun and afternoon shade. If you are located in cooler zones, such as the northern United States, plant them in full sun to help ensure their winter survival.
Fertilize once yearly in spring with a slow-release gardenia fertilizer. Otherwise, for organic gardeners, fertilize every 2 months with organic acidic plant fertilizer.
