Getting Started: Understanding Your New Plant

Plant in part shade to full shade in well-drained, fertile soil. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots, then as needed during dry spells. Eversheen Carex is deer-resistant, evergreen in mild climates, and requires minimal upkeep. In late winter or early spring, gently trim or rake out old foliage to encourage a fresh flush of growth. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–9, it grows 12–18 inches tall and 12–18 inches wide.
