The Autumn Majesty® Encore® Azalea promises to bring bounties of beautiful blooms to your landscape! The Autumn Majesty produces rich semi-double, fuchsia purple blooms that have a delicately ruffled appearance to them. Blooms first appear in the spring in an impressive display. Afterward, this Encore Azalea will continue the show by reblooming in summer and fall.

The eye-catching fuchsia purple azalea blossoms rest atop vivid green foliage. New growth emerges a bright green before maturing to a deep green.

The Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea is a compact-sized Encore Azalea and reaches a mature size of 3' H x 3' W.

Try this fuchsia purple blooming azalea as a foundation planting, accent, border, hedge, or container plant. However you use it, you really can't go wrong!

This variety is naturally compact, with a rounded growth habit. Therefore, pruning is traditionally unnecessary with this low-maintenance variety.

Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea Care

Hardy from USDA Zones 6-10. Furthermore, the Autumn Majesty is one of the most cold-hardy Azaleas around and is capable of surviving down to -5° F when established.

Provide 4-6 hours of sun daily for proper blooming. The morning sun is preferable, as intense afternoon sun can stress the plant. Less than 4 hours of sun can result in decreased blooms and less dense foliage.

The Autumn Majesty Encore Azalea, like most azaleas, prefers slightly acidic, rich soil with good drainage.

Water regularly for the first growing season, 2-3 times per week in average weather conditions. During the second growing season, water 1-2 times per week. This will help your Encore Majesty to produce deep roots which will help ensure its success in the long run.

Fertilize in early spring with balanced, acidic plant fertilizer. Reapply fertilizer again in early summer to promote faster plant growth.

Planting Instructions

Dig a Hole

First, dig a hole three times the width of the root ball of your plant. This makes it easier for the root system to spread out quickly. Dig the hole deep enough that your plant will sit level with or slightly above the ground around it.

Amend Your Soil

Mix your native soil with rich gardening soil to provide extra nutrients and support plant growth. If your soil is clay-heavy, we recommend mixing your native clay soil with equal parts of Pine Bark mulch to improve drainage and the overall breathability of your soil.

Place Your Plant

Examine the roots. If they appear tightly bound, gently coax them apart; this ensures they can spread into the new soil. Place your plant in the hole so the top of the rootball is even with the surrounding soil—Backfill around it with the amended soil mixture. The roots need access to oxygen for your plant to thrive, so do not cover the rootball; place soil around it.

Mulch Your Plants

Top the soil beneath your plant with 3-4 inches of mulch to help it retain moisture. Be careful not to cover the rootball - your new plants roots need access to oxygen.

Water Your Plant

Soak the plant with a hose afterward to hydrate the plant, as well as get the soil and mulch situated. Develop a regular watering schedule based on your plant's needs and local weather patterns. Remember, over watering is just as, if not more, harmful than under watering.
