Description
Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass High Traffic Mix is a self-repairing grass seed that withstands the constant barrage of high-traffic areas. Designed for the wear and tear of high-traffic areas, it is able to withstand abuse and continue to build a healthy, vigorous lawn.
For best results, plant seed in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F or air temperatures between 60°F and 80°F. Scotts WaterSmart PLUS Coating Technology absorbs water, feeds, and protects your newly planted grass seed. It absorbs twice as much water and holds it twice as long as uncoated seed to help prevent the seed from drying out, even if you miss a day of watering.
Water daily to keep the soil moist for at least three weeks or until seedlings reach 2 in tall. Avoid watering on rainy days to prevent overwatering your grass seeds.
How Do You Plant Scotts High Traffic Grass Seed?
Scotts High Traffic mix is easy to spread and is able to be done either by hand or via broadcast spreader.
-
Preparation: Remove any debris, such as sticks, rocks, and other items that could possibly hinder future growth.
- If grass is present, mow it as short as possible to allow the seeds to bond with the soil without issues.
- Add Soil: Apply one inch of lawn soil to the area you want to seed
-
Apply: For small areas, you can spread Scotts High Traffic Mix by hand or through a handheld spreader.
- You may want to apply your high-traffic mix for large areas with the specially designed Scott's seed spreader.
- Water: After 6 to 14 days, your seeds will begin to grow. Keep the soil's surface moist until the seedlings have reached 2 inches tall.
After opening, plant within the season.
